In October, 2006, the Shire of Brad Leah was pleased to present Bad Girls of History!

We had an interesting format for the chivalric tournament.

Each fighter got to roll a pair of oversized dice.

The Listmistress had a chart which assigned a weapons style based upon the roll.

Lower numbers didn't give such good weapons, but it led to some interesting combinations--

sword and fishbat versus sword and shield, for example!

It was very challenging and very exciting!

Everyone longed for double-sixes... "Sword and Shield and Friend-with-a-Spear!"

At the end of a tournament, two double-sixes were miraculously rolled. :o)

Our own Earl Daffydd Whittacer ended up carrying the day on the chivalric field.

We also had a rapier tournament, where Don Timothy le Corbusier was victorious.

In addition to the martial arts upon the field, Brad Leah encouraged people to partake of the finer arts.

The most impressive piece was from Debroah bat Yosef--

she had compared the different kinds of wool of a large number of different period breeds of sheep.

The variety of textures and colors, and the effort that had gone into this project, amazed everyone.

There were even activities for the children who were too young to compete in the various venues.

But no one is too young-- or too old! --to partake in the gaming competition that evening.

After all, what would Bad Girls of History be without a Gambling Champion? :o)

And so the day came full circle in the end and everyone had a memorable event.

Thanks for coming!
